Technical and scientific discussion of amps, cables and other topics.

"Why on earth does anyone need to validate their experience? And how on earth could it be done with a DBT?" The irony!

Given the fact that this is o often what is demanded of subjectivists when they express their experiences.

I noticed you dodged the question though. Why not answer it instead?

"I like to listen to good music (and also to perform it). But I just don't mindlessly attribute the good experiences merely to having excellent equipment. I have spent some time and effort in setting up the speakers and getting them to sound somewhere near their potential, so that the system doesn't get in the way of the music. I try to find fine recorded performances and where possible, good to excellent recordings (not possible with old historical recordings, but I still like some of the old ones). But you know, really, even more important is getting relaxed and in the mood to enjoy music--helpful even for live performances."

Please provide the scientifically valid evidence that supports these assertions. For all we know what you are experiencing is actually the effect of your biases. ;-)
