What fanatical DBT proponents? The only person displaying any fanaticism concerning DBTs would appear to be yourself. If the thought of DBTs causes you concern, as it appears to do, I would suggest either ignoring them or investing a bit of time and finding out from reliable sources what they actually are.

Within an experiment, blinding is a procedure that can be used to reduce or eliminate some forms of perception from influencing the quantity being measured. The form of the blinding or whether blinding should be used at all depends on what is being measured and for what purpose. Blinding is a well understood, widely used, noncontroversial procedure in scientific experimentation.

When an experimental method is reported along with the results, discussion and conclusions, the form of blinding will be mentioned. However, experiments will not normally be referred to as "DBT" experiments or non-"DBT" experiments because this aspect simply is not particularly important compared to the purpose of the experiment and what is being measured. To place a large emphasis on the form of the blinding rather than the actual experimental error is a clear signal that one is looking at marketing in the broad sense rather than genuine investigation. Of course, in order to determine experimental error one needs to be precise about what is being measured and this is almost always absent from audiophile discussions. Another clear signal.

To finish I would suggest that it is not worth putting much effort into analysing the details of the confidence levels of DBT results unless you like that sort of thing. If the results are not 100% the difference is either nonexistent or very, very marginal. In either case, the audible difference is not going to be worth anything other than a nomimal sum.
