Re: DBT Proponents --- Where do they get their confidence?

The DBT people believe that the aural perception of audiophiles is overrated, and DBT is necessary to substantiating such perception.....

Audiophiles believe that that DBT testing cannot really resolve what audiophiles perceive, hence they have disdain for such methodology.....

I think to some degree, both cases are true. Audiophiles get upset over the notion that their perceptions may not be so great, and DBT advocates get upset over the notion that their test methodologies may be not be adequate.

And all that said, I really have never understood the catfighting that often accompanies this issue. I rarely use DBT personally, but if someone else thinks it's valuable, no problem.
