Or not.....

What if I agree and say that I can't hear a difference in sound with my Cardas Golden Reference cable vs my Audience AU24??

I actually could....yep.. i even picked them out, fo shizzle. Also, - I tried a 14 foot length of cable vs a 10ft length. Both manufacturers told me the SAME THING! The 14 foot lowered the resonant frequency and made the system more boomy, - yessireee BOB!! I experienced that, and guess what, - it made sense....

But hey, - you can call me a liar. And, tell me that I didn't hear it. And I can't PROVE it. But then again, - I can't prove a lot of things that I experience. I can't prove that I actually have a wall between my kitchen and dining room. (Yes, we have a scientific model, atoms, physics, - where we have "explanations" called "laws," models that apply to repeated behavior on this planet, with this gravity). But everyday, i walk around that wall as THOUGH I COULD PROVE IT, - or I would have a bloody head.

So, I have this EXPERIENCE, it's a test, it may not be a very good one, - but it was good enough for me to buy my cable. I could afford it and I wanted it, I heard a difference, (even if YOU think that I'm a liar), - I like it. Maybe I didn't hear a difference at all. Maybe I bought it because it's a pretty black round cable that my cat likes to chew on.

What's wrong with that? Are you going to scoff at me now because I bought something that has no difference in sound, so that my cat would have a good time? If so, do you think that this may be an issue with you? Projecting your values on me? You want something more tangible than your experiences to tell you that it's OK to spend your hard earned bucks. My standards and tests may be less strict. None of us have "golden ears" but is it possible that our ears and listening skills don't suck as much as some claim? Can you examine your own behavior and intentions? Can you question your own perceptions and biases?

Isn't the internet so much fun? We fight here over nothing. We judge, we get pissy... What I find ironic, is this feeling that I have; that if you came over to my house and had a beer or a glass of wine and we shook each other's hand, - and then did a DBT, - we'd come to the same conclusion. Sometimes, I find it a little sad that that can't happen....
