Re: All audiophiles thought they had golden ears at one time

Hello Richard,

As you've probably noticed I've been staying out of this Obj vs Sub "debate." I really wish to remain out of the actual debate from the Obj vs Sub POV per se but I have to call you to the carpet on these remarks you made:

1) RBG you state: I particpated in a DBT of Tara Labs $1000 speaker cables versus $10 14AWG Rat Shack zip cord speaker wires with fellow audio club members in a test run by audio consultant Dave Clark in his listening room with much more expensive equipment than I had at home. No one could hear a differences even though everyone wanted to be the official audio club "Golden Ears"! .

2) RBG you state: I've done three single blind comparisons of borrowed interconnects versus my own Rat Shack interconnects at home. No audible differences.

3) RBG you state: Given that no audiophile in the world has ever demonstrated his ability to hear wire differences to witnesses, I haven't bothered with any more wire comparisons.

You are providing these statements as if they're proof of anything --yet they aren't! I remember well when I told you I could hear differences in wires. I also told you that I had proved this to both friends in Connecticut and friends in the Central Audio Society. In fact when I commented on that in this post: http://db.audioasylum.com/cgi/m.mpl?forum=prophead&n=24586&highlight=thetubeguy1954&r=&session=

You responded by claiming No data, No witnesses = No test done. I rest my case. Here's a link to your post:

So my question is: Where's your data? Where's your witnesses? By your own standards without these it = No test done on your part! From what I can see you've provided even less detail that I originally did when I outlined how the tests were performed in Connecticut. Once again I don't wish to rehash an Obj vs Subj debate, but rather wish to have you submit yourself to the standards you required of me, when I made similar comments.
