Technical and scientific discussion of amps, cables and other topics.

Look.....

1.)Most of us listen before we buy. Sure I do "comparisons" as blind as possible before I make most purchases to help remove non-audio factors from influencing my decision making. Not doing so will almost surely lead to falling victim to being influenced by non-audio factors. Denying the effects of these factors just reveals a lack of experience and reduces credibility. But I've said this on a number of occasions - DBTs (comparing components) are worthless to everyone except those who participate in the testing and only then if they are interested in the results of that particular gear in that particular environment.

2.) You're the one who made the post!!! Though some of us might have an interest in what you heard and what you concluded the fact of the matter is we already know that it's your opinion. No not everyone is going to agree with you. So what? But then you had to say that some day science will prove you correct. So the truth of what you said is that it's just your opinion but one day science will catch up and prove you correct. So really you believe it's more than your opinion and you state that explicitly that one day science will prove it as fact.

These were your words - not mine. You should clarify what you mean not deny by painting me as a trouble maker. In all sincerity it really makes you look dishonest.

3.)What is an assinine assumption? You're the one who believes that science will prove your opinion as fact.

My point is that if you knew and understood how to test and measure audio systems/components you could relate measurements to your sonic preferences. More than likely your preferences (mine too) aren't going to reflect what is generally considered as measuring best.

Science isn't going to prove anything - though more than likely it's capable of describing the characteristics of the sound you consider most live.
