Hi.Our ancesters went to live music performances only as they got no choice before the invention of grammophones.
Now we have the luxury of enjoying our favourite artists at home, saving time & money, thanks to rhe on-goiong technical revoluation. Yet we must not take it for granted the reproduced music can replicate any live events.
So the 'canned' music we listen at home is only a much lesser alternative & compromise, taking advantage of its readiness & convenience. So logically, we got to use live events as our sonic reference to build up our audio system.
That said, personal sonic tastes come in the picture as anything we hear is personally subjective. But any personal sonic preferences should not take over the first priority - live music.
Even many live events nowadays are all 'contaminated' with all sorts of electronic craps, e.g. PA, mixing etc etc, worst are those rock & pop band concerts. Live classical music ocncerts are the much lesser evils.
The best way to listen to the real thing - acoustical live performances. Where we can go to get the real stuff?
Live choirs (WITHOUT using any microphone P.A.) in a Sunday morning service is your best bet - real & free.
Without any reference of live events, we are seeking in the dark inside our own generated confinement. We can get nowhere.
You have said it, so many out there change their audio gears like changing their socks, wasting tons of time, energy & money. 'Cause they were like sailing without the right bearing - no idea where to se the coast.
