Hi Cheap-Jack!You just made me aware of something I think I've been missing all this time. I just assumed that although what one likes in music is subjective & depends on their own sonic taste. I had just assumed that everyone's ultimate "goal" is "to find a system that has performance capababilty" to reproduce closest to LIVE music.
At the same time, no audio component is perfect, hence none replicate live music perfectly. So it's in that light that I stated I agreed 100% with mls-stl. When one has to choose from imperfect audio components, like we all do, the goal is thus to find a system that has performance capabilities prioritized in the same order that you find important to your listening. For some dynamic range is a high priority, others might cherish pin point soundstaging etc.
So I believe I'd now restate my actual postion a lot more clearly by saying while my ultimate "goal" is to find a system that has the performance capababilty to replicate LIVE music. That's done while knowing all audio components are flawed so I choose from the audio components that possess the performance capabilities I find the most important to my listening.
Keep enjoying the music -- Thetubeguy1954
