I am starting to buy that the phase resolution is enough.... the worst case scenario is at 22.05Khz with 1 LSB peaks where 2 samples represent a wave and only 2 phases can be represented. Those 2 phases reperesent a 22.7 microsecond delay which is not bad for absolute worst case. For a 20Khz signal at half scale the phase shift represents a delay in the 6-7 nS range and it only gets better as frequency/amplitude go up. I imagine most audio signals probably have enough phase information in general even at 16/44.1.
