I'd like to see that discussion as it seems that phase errors have nothing to do with any frequency other than the one you are trying to represent whereas noise generally assume something that covers the entire frequency range.

I'd like to see that FAQ - it seems that quantization itself forces reduced phase resolution as you get closer to the frequency cutoff based on the sample rate (or course most filters wreak havoc with this phase info at frequencies close to cutoff too).

I recall reading that modelling DSD as PCM would mean the bit depth was variable across the frequency range, ie more bits at the low end of the spectrum and fewer as you move up...is this the case?

Also, you response doesn't address the 2 or more channel situation. Any comments?
