There certainly are, as regards the limits of human perception which can detect interchannel delay differences of as low as 2 microseconds over a wide dynamic range. Even optimal dithering will give only slightly more than 2 bits extra perceived resolution to RBCD before significantly starting to raise the noise floor. At realistic musical playback levels, there is simply not enough timing information encoded (hint: keep in mind that we are NOT dealing with equal level sine waves here) in dithered RBCD to do a good job of encoding this lateral information.

There is little doubt that this deficit is the cause of CD audio's notorious imaging deficits.
