What y'all find out is that the loss of phase information is just the same as if noise was added, and that it's way, way, below the sources of phase irregularities from other sources.This is not true for interchannel phase differences of signals representing musical information. This is tacitly conceded because of the near universal requirements for dither and even noise shaping partial band-aids to PCM SQ.
