Thanks. So does that mean...

that a properly-dithered digital system exhibits zero harmonic distortion (due to quantization, as you qualified)?

In other words, are there no distortion components that are harmonically related to the signal?

This is interesting, because it makes me wonder about the benefits of moving from, say 16 bits to 24. Properly dithered, won't they exhibit exactly the same distortion at low levels? Presumbaly the major difference becomes the total noise level, since the dithering adds to the overall noise, right?
