In fact, the more I try to understand some phenomenon of nature, for example how electrons ACTUALLY flow in a wire, the more confused I get.

If you get confused, why not just ask some questions? Perhaps your sources are a bit too deep. I mean, I don't think you REALLY need to get into things like wavefunction and probability distribution to get a good conceptual grasp of what's going on.


Now when it comes to quantum dots, or even quantum mechanics in general, I get even more confused. Perhaps you can recommend a handy guide, so that I can understand how the universe really works, and how to tell when 'nature's laws' are being broken. Please give me a clue, 'inquiring minds need to know' . Seriously!

How the universe really works? Oh, that's easy. Just pick up a copy of the Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. :)
