Re: Actually...

Jim, if you were a REAL SCIENTIST you would have remained uncommitted about the chip, UNTIL you tried it yourself, at the very least.

Why?

How would his having tried it himself have changed anything? If he tried it himself, he'd just be yet another person who has and either perceived a difference or didn't. And whether he did or he didn't, it wouldn't have proved anything one way or the other and we're right back where we started.

And that's apparently where you want to keep things. You haven't any interest whatsoever in actually expanding our knowledge and understanding. Instead you just want to wallow in a stagnant pool of empty claims, untested theories, and wild speculations.

Instead you went out of your way to make fun of me for defending the very existance of the chip, and that I was pointing out that there are many subtle factors in audio that we don't completely or easily understand. (That's what makes it interesting!)

So what? That there are things we don't understand isn't proof that there's anything going on with the chip that we don't understand or that the chip's doing anything at all to the disc. But then of course you've no interest in actually expanding our knowledge and understanding so I guess that point is moot.

You remind me of Lord Kelvin, who in 1900 said: " X-rays are a hoax! " What arrogance!

And you remind me of Theodoric of York, who said:

"Wait a minute. Perhaps she's right. Perhaps I've been wrong to blindly folow the medical traditions and superstitions of past centuries. Maybe we barbers should test these assumptions analytically, through experimentation and a 'scientific method.' Maybe this scientific method could be extended to other fields of learning: the natural sciences, art, architecture, navigation. Perhaps I could lead the way to a new age, an age of rebirth, a Renaissance!

...

Naaaaah!"
