However after a lot of experimentation, I don't think this is actually the case. Instead, I believe that the equipment is adding irritating grunge and hash that is making the recording difficult to listen to. I think it is possible (although not necessarily easy) to get a great system with incredible resolution AND still have it be more than listenable with below-average recordings.
