Don't confuse oversampling with dithering...

SACD uses oversampling and noise shaping.

PCM in baseband form has no oversampling to speak of (2/22.05 oversampling for the RedBook case).

Dithering works in the absense of oversampling.

Oversampling is a completely different technology that deliberately extends the noise bandwidth.

Noise shaping furthermore moves more noise to high frequencies where it can be filtered out.

But oversampling and noise shaping are NOT dithering. Oversampling and noise shaping move QUANTIZATION noise.

Dithering removes the correlation of quantization noise with signal.

They are two very different things.
