.... using faint music signals buried in noise vs. the same noise without any signal at all. The test subjects then determine if the signal is present or not. Then use varying levels of noise and music signal to determine the threshold.Related tests could be conducted to determine thresholds of word intelligibility. And other tests using different and/or muliple music tracks, ear dominance, frequency sensitivity, etc.
