Definitely yes. I used to work at a DSP based hearing aid company and one of the rehabilitations we were testing was an algorithm to help pick signals out of noise by linking the two aids and enhancing the signal which was "centered" and suppressing the signals which were off axis. I was the only one who could pick a signal (speech) at -15dB to the noise floor just as well with and without the algo, i.e. everyone one else got better scores with the algo on than off. It was tiring tho.

Perhaps someone can tell us what the floor is.
