Since it all comes down to the question of "can you hear this", even if we assume an ideal setting (noise level at thermal, etc), there are some limits to what we can hear.If you have an SNR of 100 dB, for instance, chances are in any real room with real speakers, you're fine, even though in an ideal room you might have some potential for exposed noise floor if the noise floor was a pessimal shape.
