and Todd Krieger is usually clear minded. I don't know what he meant by "...like Bruckner" idea.I like brisk Toscanini esque type Beethoven. I argue that Szell's brisk and no nonsense approach is almost a la HIP and brings out musical ideas and 2nd and more voices. Others want it slower. I listened to my Bohm and yes, it's really nice for softer approach. I feel that he's showing his age at the time of the recording. I rather have granite (Klemp mono--the only one I have is electronically reissued box of 3,5 and 7 EMI postage stamp) or Walter's for a slower one.
