I haven't heard C. Kleiber's Fourth either, but that's the one Beethoven Symphony that I think would work really well with Kleiber's style.....

Of course how a conductor actually does a work may be totally different from how I'd think he'd do it. For example, since Toscanini had a tendency to rush tempos, I didn't think I'd like his Beethoven Seventh, but it was closer to my ideal than with most others I've heard.
