No matter how many records one is familiar with, there are always many more left behind. There are hundreds of performances. Every conductor played it, often multiple times.I like three performances, and none of them is mentioned in your post and replies. Joseph Krips/LSO is perfectly paced, spirited and yet finely articulated - a combination that is hard to come by. Andre Previn with the same orchestra is quite good. And of modern performances - Gustavo Dudamel with Simon Bolivar Youth - an unexpected revelation from a young genius.
