Re: That post is little more than a troll

Send me an email Steve with the plan less the hyberbole and I'll float it to the Bored.

Will do.

Folks know what it argumentavie is and what is argumentative for the sake of being argumentative.

Do they? How do they know that unless they're the one doing the arguing? Sure, they might suspect someone is arguing for the sake of argument and perhaps assign some sort of subjective probability as to how likely they think their suspicion is true, but really, how exactly do they know?

I don't argue for the sake of argument. But suppose I did. And suppose that in arguing for the sake of argument I chose to target only "naysayers."

Would Jon or Ted or certain others be accusing me of arguing for the sake of argument?

I don't think so.

Jon says I argue for the sake of argument. But he also says he'd love to see me argue with the "naysayers." So apparently Jon sees arguing for the sake of argument as a good thing as long as it's directed at those he doesn't agree with.

I think the accusations that I argue purely for the sake of argument are just a defensive ad hominem diversion because they don't like the argument.

Bottom line is that I do not argue for the sake of argument. Outspoken? Sure. My parents always encouraged me to be frank and open, and to never be too intimidated to question or to speak my mind. If that was bad advice then I guess I just had shitty parents. Oh well.
