Clark thanks for your insight. This words of yours... "Given people with those immutable traits, we will never see the day when total open-mindedness in science exists." ...describes EXACTLY how many of the scientists and/or audio designers here at PHP are acting towards my suggestion of studying "these sounds" as Dieter called them, or what I believe to be "musicality" or the "gestalt" of music. Dan Banquer's response to my proposal was put quite eloquently "I'm not going near your "Gestalt" with a 10 ft pole."

Clark said: Right now I'm reading a book about how Sir Arthur Eddington sneered so viciously, so continuously at the young man who first posited "black holes", that that explanation was suppressed from general knowledge for nearly forty years.I'm sure this was also considered another "crackpot theory" in it's day as well. This goes to show what I've been saying all along, MOST, not all, Objectivists are close-minded, believing they already possess the truth, so they reject any other propostions.

I agree Clark, that's how those people operate, and those people will always be among us, lording it over us. One can only work around them, never with them. This is evidenced when I attempted to find a common ground between Objectivists & Subjectivists. In an effort to do so I came up with the possibility that if musicality could be measured, we MIGHT have an accurate way of correlating whats been heard with what's been measured. I truely believe what's been heard should equal what's been measured, like Objectivists do! So like the young man above I proposed a new idea, in this case the developement of new measurement tests for audio components. Unfortunately just like Sir Arthur Eddington sneered so viciously at the young man, I too have been treated in like manner. Still others tried to discredit my post by completely changing the direction of my original post and gearing it towards C37 & wooden knobs. I guess anything but discuss the possibility of trying to measure "these sounds" and discovering what part they play in our judging the realism of the replicated sound. The real sad part is I cannot say, oh well their loss, for some of these people are highly influential in the manufactuering process, hence it becomes my loss and many others loss as well.
