In his conclusion though he points out that the results while promising are incomplete, and proposes further study in a number of directions? He shows a basic proof of principle with his listening test (live mic feed no less) and shows that THD and IM were not good predictors but TAD was. Obviously more careful study is necessary to prove the value of his concept. He admits this freely as he should. Your problem is that since you have never made such scientific studies yourself you don't realize that it isn't wrapped up in a little bow at the end like an engineering project where a product is the end result. If he went on for a Ph.D then maybe he would have taken the time to answer the questions more rigorously.
