The issue of characterizing distortion has been going on long before the Cheever Thesis, and is nothing new. It's close to 50 years old. The Gedlees paper gives a mathematical formula for weighting distortion that could be implemented in software.
The industry, as you might have noticed, is ignoring this.
You might also notice the lack of remarks from me about tubes, so I will repeat myself once again. Tubes.........their great for microwave ovens.
If measuring poorly is just the THD figure, That was already explained 50 years ago.
And just in case you were wondering, I also just love negative feedback; it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.
