Hello Real JJ,I believe you probably don't realize that some posts between BJH, Dan and myself have been deleted. It was due to things said in those posts that I made the comments I did.
Specifically Dan asked BJH to tell him what negative feedback is, and how and when it's used (my paraphrase of Dan's words) I'm sorry but knowing or not knowing what those are isn't what entitles BJH or myself to have an opinion on Mr Cheever's thesis.
So I said to Dan "IF" you really want an answer to your question why not ask someone like John Curl who could give him an intelligent and technically proficient answer! I saw and still see these tactics by Dan as similair to those of a bully in a playground. He "picks" on those he believes he can beat with his technical questions.
Real JJ I've admitted to you, Pat D and anyone else who's asked many, many times before that I have no technical proficiency, nor do I desire to obtain a BSEE in order to enjoy my hobby. Fact is much of Mr Cheever's thesis was beyond my understanding, I did however agree with what he was trying to prove, at least as I understood it, i.e. "There exists general agreement that the commonly accepted test and measurement protocols for audio frequency power amplifiers fail to correlate with the subjectively accessed devices sound quality." As an SET owner/lover I know this is true! Of course you and I disagree on this as well.
I see nothing wrong with appealling to a more informed authority when I am in area that's out of my expertise. I guess you feel that's wrong, I don't.
I'm sorry to see after our civil, intelligent posts you've reverted to strawmen, ad hominems again. Oh well, I'm sorry you felt the need to defend a bully like Dan was behaving.
Lastly I'm amazed someone as intelligent as yourself believes it's obvious that my entire article is political manipulation. I have nothing to gain in this at all, you are so sadly mistaken. I do care a great deal about this issue. You know because I've stated many times in the past that I believe in the depth of my heart that the day will come when a new test will be developed that proves SET's are more accurate in producing music realistically as percieved by listeners! So how can you even begin to say I don't acre about this issue?
Dan was acting like a bully plain and simple! You I'm saddened to see have reverted to the typical all Objectivists attack the Subjectivist mentality. Or isn't Dan capable of defending his own beliefs against a non-technically proficient person like myself, without your help?
