jneutron thanks for providing me some key words to use. I actually did go through the archives as Dan asked, but I used the key CHEEVERS & THESIS, afterall that is what we were talking about wasn't it? I fiqured if Dan wouldn't take the brief time required to provide me with a few key words why should I take the time to search through every post Dan & John made?Dan in his arrogance finally provided a link under a title that displays typical Objectivist arrogance "It took me less than ten minutes to find this....." I'll repeat what I told Dan, had I known what to use for keywords it would have taken me 10 seconds not 10 mintues. It also had no direct communication between Dan & John! So I have no idea what it is supposed to prove.
In all honesty fermi velocity & near superconducting is probably above my technical proficiency to understand. Perhaps I'll start at skin effect as I have a basic understanding of it.
This unfortunate ruckus started because Dan Banquer felt the need to bully BJH by demanding he decribe in his own words what negative feedback is and how & when it used (these posts have since been deleted) I then told Dan "IF" he really wanted the answer to these questions and how one could support Cheever (and wasn't just trying to humilate BJH, as in the typical Objectivist fashion of belittling the less technically proficient) ask John Curl! I picked John for two specific reasons 1) John is definitely a lot more technically proficient than your typical audiophile & 2) John seems a lot more tolerant of Subjectivist views that your average audio designer.
jneutron you and Soundmind are a lot more civil than 99% of the Objectivists here on A.A. You both have attempted to help me by giving me some information I can actually use. Did you also notice how civilly I've responded to you as well? That's not how I'm typically treated by Objectvists here. Acting like Dan Banquer did/does i.e., most Objectivists would rather show everyone here they have a superior technical grasp than actually debate the audiophile. But that's not enough, they usually try to make the one they're confronting look like an uneducated clod! Sometimes subtlely, sometimes outright like calling them a nit-wit or worse. Anything but actually debate the issue in an intelligent manner! It's almost as if they're outraged a technically uneducated audiophile would dare challenge their beliefs.
Even after I've repeatedly posted I am not technically proficient, instead of providing me any information that could be construed as constructive. They'd prefer to prove to the other Objectivists here I'm not as competent as they are in technical discussions or they'll point out some technical mistake I've made. I guess in this way they can prove to each other just how technically superior they are.
It's a shame how the technically proficient here attack like a wolf pack one after the other, to break down anyone who disagrees with them. Take Real JJ for example today he berated me for calling Dan Banquer a bully, yet conveniently he overlooks and fails to mention that Dan Banquer started the name calling by refering to me as a nit-wit!
When I was a Data Recovery Specialist, I often encountered people who didn't have a clue about their PC's. I never humiliated them or proved my technical superiority. Instead of that I'd give them analogies to show them how their PC worked, i.e. a hard drive is like a filing cabinet it only holds your data, memory is like a desktop so the more memory, the larger the desktop, the more files you can open at one time. If the Objectivists here acted more like that, the debates would get more intelligent as they educated the audiophiles. They "might" even get some converts as we became more technically proficient. But ask a question and you'll be told to go do your own research! Did they all forget they went to school and had someone teach them as well?
In the past I've always enjoyed debates, even heated ones, but I cannot have intelligent debates here on propeller forum. Instead of intelligent debates the technically proficient pat each other on the back for being so smart, while they humilate as best they can the average audiophile! Then when the audiophile lashes out the try to berate them, for doing the very thing the Objectivist did first!
