Re: We know the answer, he agrees with the thesis' basic premise

Soundmind, I respect your opinion even though I don't usually agree with it. I'll repeat what I've said many times before here, I am NOT technically proficient in electronics. I am a hobbyist who's been involved with audio for almost 40 years now. I say that not to brag but rather to give some indication of my exposure to the hobby.

The ONLY reason I asked Dan Banquer to challenge John Curl, despite the fact that Real JJ believes "...it's obvious that my entire article is political manipulation, and that I don't care about the issue..." was this: I felt Dan Banquer was bullying some in A.A. who might be less technically proficient, by asking technical questions as he did with BJH (BJH may be very technically proficient, I don't know) Technical proficieny is NOT a requirement to have an opinion.

So I told Dan Banquer to challenge John Curl "IF" he really wanted the answer to his question & wasn't just trying to intimidate others like a bully does!

As for your challenging John Curl, my hat is off to you! I owned John's JC-1 he designed for Mark Levinson for many years. It was way ahead of it's time. Back then NOTHING I heard came close to it. I believe John is one of the most talented & respected audio equipment designers there are! From what I've read of his posts here I find him to be both intelligent & a nice guy. That's combo is rare amongst audio equipment designers. It's been my experience that usually they develop this arrogant audio-GOD syndrome.

For the record I know you didn't say the thesis was outdated Dan Banquer did.

My point is this, we were supposedly debating Mr Cheever's thesis, Dan Banquer should have left it to that and not resort to requiring anyone who disagrees with his opinion, jump through hoops of answering technical questions before doing so! Dan Banquer acted like a bully and I called him on it! Sort of like going up to the bully in high school who was always challenging the hippy guys to fight and saying "IF" you really want to fight why not challenge one of the Linebackers!

That's it in a nutshell.
