I cannot believe how bent some of you are on convincing the readers here that someone is either constantly incorrect on technical matters or incompetent in engaging in technical discussion, as opposed to simply passing on information that could be constructive to the issue at hand. It just boggles my mind.""In response to the origional poster, Dan requested he do a historical search on this forum, to understand why some do not engage JC in such discussion.
I provided more specific information to that end.
You also must read posts in their entirety. I prefaced and ended my post quite clearly to indicate that I am aware that JC is very good at what he has created in the past. And, more to the point, that JC is more inclined to believe a technical sounding paper based moreso on trust of the author or his position, than a firm understanding of the content. I pointed out three examples of such. I also pointed out clearly, that after engaging him regarding specifics, it is eventually learned from him, that he is unable to intellectually support the argument he has been trying to convince us of.
Basing support of a concept on the opinion of another is not actually a bad thing, I am guilty of that here.. My high opinion of JC's abilities is not based on personal experience, but rather, on Phil Tower's opinion of him. But the utility of asking an opinion of someone who does not always state "it's not my expertise" but instead argues the point, is questionable.

I am coming to the reality that the objective of a lot of people here is to foster the impression that they're superior technical minds (and those who don't agree with them are dolts), as opposed to simply providing useful information.""I believe you are correct in that regard. I find that on both sides of the fence.
I assume that by posting this under mine, you are attempting to categorize me with the group of "you"? In that, you are sadly mistaken.
The illogic of your post defies my understanding...this is the first such post from you I have ever seen, in all the years here...
Cheers, John
