Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

a 10 second break-in test followed by a second measurement after 20 hours break in ... is either dishonest, or stupid

There are enough data available for any audio engineer to know that 10 seconds is not likely to be enough break-in time.

And common sense tells one that if the second set of measurements are done after 20 hours, we will never know when the changes really happened.

Maybe they happened almost entirely after only two minutes of break-in?

A 1% or 2% change to driver T/S specs is not audible to anyone and is also within the normal driver sample-to-sample variations.

I don't even have evidence to prove that a 5% change is audible.

I'm guessing that a 10% change could, or would, be audible.
