Maybe, maybe not. But even my wife, who is not an audiophile and was only listening sporadically while my Verity Parsifal Ovations broke in, noticed a huge difference after a long breakin of over 500 hours. At the beginning of this period, the bass sounded disjointed from the midrange and quite loose. After the 500 or so breakin period, the bass tightened considerably and there was no noticeable handoff from the bass to the midrange. At the beginning of this period, I had to wonder if I had made the wisest purchase. Afterwards, there were no doubts in my mind.

My wife even had us play the same piece of music (Wayne Shorter's Native Dancer) that sounded horrible at the beginning of the breakin period but sounded quite nice afterwards.
