"It is one of the reasons why discussing most audio issues with you is a fruitless and generally unrewarding exercise. Your ever reading willingness to stay consistent to invalid points in the fact of valid contrary evidence is perplexing."Reread the post from Geddes, audiohobby. He doesn't bother with amps because in his opinion "the effect is small". I doubt even Dan would admit this, after all he designed amps not speakers.
"It was never published it was an in house study and it was on total systems"
He has never studied amps specifically or formally."The self-delusion comes from not being open minded to the uncomfortable reality of things. I'm not open minded because "I've been there and done that"."
This is a disingenious argument because I am the one keeping the open mind that amps DO sound significantly different and he is the one that is absolutely certain that they aren't. However; there have been blind tests showing statistically relevant differences.
" "It can't be all psychological self-delusion. "Well actually it can and for the most part is. "
Here he thinks that all those who think there is a significant difference are delusional. He is twisting the situation around to make me look close minded to his KNOWN truth. Maybe Earl simply doesn't hear very well? Maybe his preconceived notions cloud the input from his ears?
I haven't read the article you suggest because I don't have ready access to the magazine. Perhaps you would like to quote the relevant bits?
