one of the luxuries of being as successful as a JC or a CH is that it would give one the luxury of not necessarilly having to give a hoot what the IEEE thinks.As for audiophiles the fact that JC was the guy behind many near legendary designs, e.g. the Vendetta phono stages, would almost certainly be of infinitely greater significance that what the IEEE thinks about audio engineering in general, of what they might think of particulars such as the significance of selection of purely passive circuit element (e.g. capacitors, etc.), etc., etc.
I mean really!... IEEE!... who cares?
