Technical and scientific discussion of amps, cables and other topics.

Good time to lend a hand to one of your cohorts!

Here's andy19191 making a suggestion of massive level differences in response to just the swapping of one IC for another where it has already been explained the level control hasn't been touched between swaps.

"The first concerns the levels, if they were not within about 0.1dB then you will be interpreting small level differences as subjective differences. Not surprisingly, the loudest is almost always interpretted as superior. Since you made no attempt to address this it has invalidated the results of the experiment."

Here he's at it again, a simple IC cable swap, level unchanges, suggesting simple variances in cable LCR parameter ("the specifications of the cables") my be interacting with amplifier and speaker impedances to yield audibly changes; actually he seems more than a little confused here as the topic is IC cables, hence what the speaker amplifier inferface has to do with it is entirely unclear:

"You do not give the specifications of the cables and the impedances of the amplifier and speaker which would enable one to determine whether the sound was audibly modified."

Better get to it and help the lad.
