if it's immoral to build controls into tests then drug testing, for instance, is immoral too. Does anyone around here complain and dismiss the drug because of this?

At least that one I've learned from this thread, so the next time that someone claims to hear differences between storage locations or other things that can't be I'll remember and send 4 CDs, with two being identical. I believe that it's only a question of time and someone will pop up.

Btw., the CDs I sent were same make and from the same package, so perhaps also from the same production batch. I did not check them for bit and jitter identity coz I don't have appropriate software. The magazine guy did'nt check either but when asked he assumed that they were identical. Reminds me of Mr. Chip.

As for people with alleged hearing skills, they are even afraid to validate their skills using test tracks with differences known to be audible. Seems the most simple way to get them quiet, "you have skills? Here's the test CD so you can prove it"!
