The data will come out of a buffer in the processor in either case, and go into a parallel-serial convertor that will simply not do what you all suggest.Now, the processor load may cause problems with clocking, DAC reference, etc, there are many plausible problems, but they frankly come about due to either cheaping out or bad design.
Y'all can certainly convince me that people cheap out on design. Then again, I said that myself, didn't I?
