Please see my post below to Jon on jitter. I do not believe the level of jitter is affected playing back compressed vs. uncompressed files using a PC due to buffering of the output stream.

The data processed in the PC is of course in the digital domain, and RFI is not a factor until it is converted to analog. I am not sure the added CPU load processing lossless will cause a meaningful difference in the RFI from the PC which is an noisy RFI generator anyway.

If you are using PC as your source and you are concerned about RFI, than go digital or usb out from the PC and move the DAC away from the RFI source.
