Technical and scientific discussion of amps, cables and other topics.

He said "lossless", y'all! Wake up!

As far as I know, MPEG-4 Lossless (ALS,SLS) are not standards yet, but since he said "lossless" no, there is no need for listening tests. Claims otherwise for a LOSSLESS codec seem rather, well, peculiar.

How about it, Mkuller, has MPEG approved the ALS and SLS standards for Lossless Codecs yet? Are they in MPEG-4, or in some other audio standard.

Y'all asked about them, surely y'all must know the answer!

Oh, and most of MPEG-4 audio codecs are not lossless. Y'all keep that in mind, y'hear? For those, yeah, there's a whole book-sized set of reports on listening tests, you betcha.
