*** You replied to three points I raised ***

Oh, which point did I ignore? Is it your comment about the Esoteric? Well, I didn't disagree with your statements (although I must point out at no stage did I say TEAC's R&D was focused on the transport, so your rebuttal was to a point I never made). Unless of course you are saying TEAC had invested no R&D in producting the DV-50, which I would find difficult to believe.

*** Two of your replies were completely without content or merit ***

Exceedingly brave statements, especially since you offer no substantiation.

Look, it's trivially easy to show that your statement about "The transport mechanism itself has virtually no effect on the measured jitter as reported by Stereophile" is just not true.

Take a player. Any player. Measure jitter using the same procedure as Stereophile. Now replace the drive with a different one, and measure again. If you get different results, then your statement is not true.

Perhaps if you spent some time trying to understand *why* your statement is not true, it may help you design better players. After all, the measured results of your C-5xe clearly show at least in terms of jitter you are not quite there compared to others.

Let me give you a hint: if you think the primary factors contributing to jitter are limited to "the clock, the power supply, and the PCB layout (including grounding)", you are probably focusing on the wrong things. There are other factors (not necessarily the transport, I might add) which may be more relevant.
