I'm a firm believer that the transport needs to be of good quality, but I have to point out that this was the same philosophy Pioneer stated for their Stable Platter transport. In theory, it would result in less read errors and more info getting to the rest of the player. In practice, it wasn't any better at these tasks than quality spindle-based transports.

I note that Stereophile found the VRDS NEO-equipped X-01 to have "...jitter [that] is significantly higher than the best modern components...."
