That's not necessarily true but they will charge more to offset the cost of retooling. They must make a profit so you aren't going to see a few hundred feet of some special cable at a rock bottom price which is what the audiophile cable resellers are looking for from their own suppliers. 10,000 feet is not a very large order. If you were to sell pairs of 25 foot speaker cables, that's only 200 orders. Not a whole lot...unless you don't know if you will be in business next month because you are that small.
