I guess that might say something about the equipment audiophiles appear to prefer.SM designed power systems for computer data centers. We like listening to music. Neither of my laptops, however, really care too much for Mozart. :)
Maybe you will search the archives for some of my posts on grounding issues.
I think we really don't differ in principle on this issue. RFI can mask musical information if not completely eliminated. Perhaps your design truly addresses that goal internally. Great. You don't need such external solutions. Do you think SM's MOSFET driven Dynaco ST-120 shares that same immunity?
While Nelson Pass has never recommended aftermarket PCs, I find it interesting nevertheless that the latest versions of his X series amplifiers tout "improved AC EMI filters, more paralleled power supply capacitors, increased supply RC filtering (among other things)... Gee, those changes provide the same kind of benefits as do filtered and shielded cords. What a coincidence! My 25 year old Stasis does benefit from additional filtering.
The big brother to my VTL amps uses a massive fully regulated 750 joule power supply. I suspect that aftermarket cords would provide little benefit to them.
