Hey RBG,I can only assume that your use of the name "Intelligent Brilliant Wires" is in reference to Machina dynamica Brilliant Pebbles & Intelligent Chips. While I don't wish to disparge the manufactuer, I'll admit I find, from my understanding of the reasons explained for their supposed enhancement to the sound, to be IMHO suspect at best!
I don't see myself even as subjectivist to be purchasing any these tweaks or a Clever Little Clock anytime in the future. If others choose to buy them and believe these tweaks actually improve the sound of their system's ability to replicate music, how does that effect me or you? So if they want, who cares?
I'd like to suggest that you not allow your and my disbelief in these tweaks to allow that to be the cause for closing your mind to the possibility that some tweaks, like powercords might possibly have an effect how a well system replicates music.
Seems to me like some of the Objectivists here who I greatly respect (tomservo & jneutron) have reasonable explnations on why a powecord might effect a system's ability to replicate music. Perhaps they are correct and all it comes down to (if I am understanding their POV correctly) is how well a power supply is designed and implemented. I know one of the powercord manufactuers (Stealth) claims:
Our listening tests have proven that AC power cords' "sound" mostly depends not on the AC carrying wires, but on the ground wire, which NEEDS to be shielded since it's included into the SIGNAL PATH (ground path, to be more precise). AC is filtered in the power supplies, but the ground goes in and out just the way it is. That's why different AC power cords sound differently! Therefore, in general, the better your house ground wiring is, the more obvious are the sonic advantages of the AC cords. Maybe they're correct? I personally don't know. I myself, hear the least, if any, amount of improvement in how my system replicates music when the powercord changes.
I hear much more improvement in interconnects & speakerwire than I ever hear or heard in powercords. I know you most likely don't believe any of these wires should effect how well a system replicates music and I'm not going to argue or debate this subject anymore. I'm only hoping that because some audio tweaks are very suspect, that won't hinder you from possibly believing that some others might possibly work. Especially considering the explinantions that have been provided here in this thread.
