Mainly because I think nobody has yet come close to getting a definitive scientific basis for why some power cords and power supplies sound better than others. Even those who market popular products don't have a definitive reason why their products sound better, since the designs are mostly "spectulative".... Or what some call "voodoo".... It's maybe more art than science. But an art that many think has improved the performance in their audio rigs.
If someone were to come up with a solid and repeatable scientific basis for better sound in power cords and power supplies, he'd all but own the high-end power cord/supply market. But because such basis has not even come close to being deduced, the speculative designs that yield superior subjective performance will continue to rule this market.
