I will repeat myself, more briefly this time.

Keep in mind, first of all, that the typical vacuum tube is a more linear device than the typical transistor according to conventional continuous waveform measurements.


Given that, when you add to this the salient fact that semiconductor junction capacitances have mediocre dielectric properties, comparable to those of cheap polar capacitors but that also significantly affect semiconductor transient performance in ways that don't reveal themselves in continuous waveform measurements, in a manner related to that for capacitors, tubes gain an audible advantage over transistors in audio applications. This is a point that is routinely ignored in these discussions and thus merits extra emphasis.
