HiMost OTL amps are cathode followers, a point, which is much lower impedance than the plate connection normally used. The down side is the grid drive voltage is slightly greater than the output swing BUT this can be done fairly easily as it is not a low impedance it is driving.
Of the possible solutions, the OTL has to be about the best as it is totally free from transformer artifacts in the bottom third of the spectrum, it would be even better if speakers were made with a higher (easier to drive directly from a tube) impedance.
All of the possible solutions are a ballet of the tradeoffs.
