Re: I disagree, again.

"How can a auto-transformer make "difficult" speakers sound better ???? It's reactive load will only make an amp work harder, not easier"

It is a simple fact that nearly all amps and especially OTLs work better into a higher impedance say 8-16 ohms, except for ball busting SS amps perhaps. My OTLs put out 125 watts into 16 ohms, 100 into 8, and about 60-70 into 4. How do you think they would fare into lower? Not so good. So while it makes the load a bit more reactive it makes it a whole lot easier overall. Besides if the amp has little to no feedback it won't care much about a reactive load.

" with central air-cooling on."

Don't have that here in Switzerland CJ.

"A really good OTL amp can handle any type of speakers. No need any auto-irons"

Think so? I disagree there because I am quite sure they would have problems with a 1 ohm Apogee Scintilla. Also, they did exhibit difficulty in controlling the bass on my Acoustat 1+1s, which dip to 3 ohms in the bass.

" 6-ft 550-lb giant Hyperion of Rockport Technologies"

THis is a fairly high sensitivity speaker for one thing and it was reported that one pair of Tenors wasn't capable of a full dynamic envelope with this speaker.

"In fact I spent many hours in auditioning only ONE pair of Tenor mononblocks driving the Hyperion monstors (which is recommended for bi-wired), I dropped my jaw big bigtime. Deep deep 3D soundstage I've never encountered ever before."

I have no doubt of this but what does it have to do with this discussion? Sure it still sounded good...as long as the level was kept down to a moderate volume. The fact is that you don't know if it would have made it better or worse to get the full 75 watts from the Tenors by using an autoformer. It does involve tradeoffs but for a lot of difficult load speakers it could be the difference between acceptable and inacceptable sound.
