Hi.How can a auto-transformer make "difficult" speakers sound better ???? It's reactive load will only make an amp work harder, not easier.
A really good OTL amp can handle any type of speakers. No need any auto-irons.
Take the Tenor 75W OTL monoblock, for example. Reports showed that it handled many difficult-to-drive speakers like a piece of cake.
e.g. KEF LS 3/5A, a BBC miniature monitor, & the USD91,000 6-ft 550-lb giant Hyperion of Rockport TechnologiesIn fact I spent many hours in auditioning only ONE pair of Tenor mononblocks driving the Hyperion monstors (which is recommended for bi-wired), I dropped my jaw big bigtime. Deep deep 3D soundstage I've never encountered ever before.
Strangely despite many complain about the huge heat produced by 6C33s, I did not find the heat was problematic considering I only sat about 8 feet in front of the two monoblocks, in an average size listening room with central air-cooling on.
